Kay-Rah-Tee

  • Dec. 21st, 2010 at 4:55 PM
Good afternoon, everybody.

I am in so much pain right now. My ribs on the left side have been giving me a lot of trouble lately and are only getting worse.

Yesterday, Patrice - who has decided that she knows karate or kay-rah-tee as she calls it - kicked me in the shin and then went after Torvin, one of the baddest men I've ever met. He is in the very rare group of guys who have no patience for the kids. In my attempt to save my daughter from certain harm, I tore my right quad.

I've been told I can't power-walk, jog, run, skip, hop, and otherwise move my right leg until I can pull it off the ground without feeling like I'm going to hurl.

Anywho, Eleanor, one of the good daughters, transcribed our appearance on the Late Late Show with Andrew Carlyle. She might send it over to Krysten to post on the Hunt/Tooth and Claw blog or she may join the bloggerverse and post it herself. We'll see.

Spawning

  • Nov. 24th, 2010 at 7:49 PM
Had a very philosophical/scientific thought pop into my head while I watched General Hospital.... Does a promiscuous female have a higher testosterone level than the control group? Biologically speaking, men are supposed to "spawn", so that wandering thing in a twisted, twisted way makes sense. Thoughts?

B. Horne: Ms. Xtreme

  • Nov. 24th, 2010 at 2:37 PM
Aloha, everybody!

I'm so excited right now!!!

Some of Sampsa's friends are still here even though it's been two days since his birthday.

"Big Bam Bam" Bruce Larkin, Rubber Rob, and Jen Dierdrek, my three favorite friends by association, are all here.

At HunterCon we met a girl named Bridget Horne. This girl knew everything about Team Xtreme. She had show lists and set lists from the first tour!!

Today, the four of us - me, Sampsa, Bruce, and Jen - were racking our brain trying to figure out when I first started the tour. To make a long story short, I had Wiz call Bridget and see what her schedule looked like.

I just bought a ticket for Bridget to fly from Pheonix to Fort Myers to help us out with the Team Xtreme section of the main site and the TX Blog.

To make it even crazier, Avril, Kari, and Serenity are coming today. Totally coincidental, but totally awesome.

I'm uber excited!!! You guys have no idea!!!

Overconfidence

  • Oct. 26th, 2010 at 6:15 PM
Good afternoon, everyone!

I'm enjoying some coffee and watching
with some Finnish dudes that showed up last night. We watch Tyra every day- well, we flip between Tyra and General Hospital. ;-)

While we were in Germany, back in August, Sampsa did a radio interview and Ms. Marissa Hoo-Hoo-Hoover did an amazing job translating and transcribing. Clicky clicky the linky linky.

LiveJournal Daily Prompt: Are there any scents that invoke childhood memories?
Um... Finnish bread. :-)

I used this picture with this post because I witnessed a great display of overconfidence today. Most people know that kids usually are very overconfident. Our kids are no different.

I don't know if I've ever mentioned Enzo and Thor before. Enzo and Thor are Hell Hounds that Marcellus charged with watching me. They're massive black dogs that don't eat, sleep, or anything else, but protect and obey.

Anyway... today... my beautiful, crazy baby girl, Patrice decided to charge at Enzo and tackle him. Obviously it didn't work because Enzo has about two hundred pounds on her. It was like watching her it a furry brick wall. She wasn't deterred though and eventually he got what she was trying to do. Like the sweetheart that he is, Enzo fell over as if she had actually tackled him. It was adorable and a bit disturbing at the same time.

Drained

  • Aug. 18th, 2010 at 8:36 AM
Feeling more drained than usual. Hopefully Sampsa's special coffee will perk me up. It's extremely strong caramel coffee. I may be bouncing off the walls by the time we leave the apartment.

Willing Destruction

  • Aug. 16th, 2010 at 7:49 AM
Good morning, everybody!!

Again, I am in a great mood today. It might have a lot to do with our trip to David and Cassie's, which, by the way, I have completely planned out. Hooray for me!

Okay, Daily Prompt:

Have you ever gotten involved with a co-worker or classmate? How did it work out?

Oh, the story of my life, peeps. Technically I've pretty much stayed in the realm of co-workers. Classmates? No, but co-workers definitely. Emmett, Jean, Sampsa, Cattie, Doyle... we all work together.

Don't get the wrong idea, people! It's monogamous, Emmett and my marriage. Right now anyway. I'm hoping, fingers crossed, that it will stay this way for a long time.

I'm sure I'll have more to talk about later in the day. It's not even 8:00 A.M. so... give me time. ;)

OH!! The first chapter of Willing Destruction, the third book of the Galoria Hunter series, is up now on the forum. Clicky clicky the linky linky.

Teh Hussel...

Good afternoon, everyone!

I have been awake since 8:00 and I am in such a good mood. :)

I'm in such a good mood that I'm going to attempt to bring a couple things back.

First, Daily Prompt...

Where is your favorite place to relax?

My favorite place to relax.... I've just recently realized that I love the beach. I don't love the ocean or want to go anywhere near the water, but I love the beach.

I also love it when we go to our "cabin" in Whistler, BC. Emmett calls it a "cabin", but there's nothing cabiny about it.

Second, Revisited Post...

This was posted on October 10, 2008 at 9:47 P.M. and said:
My life is awesome! I have the perfect husband. I have the most amazing kids. Anyway, enough about my life and its perfection. We just got home from going to dinner with my sister, Vanessa. She's moving to West Palm next month. I'm going to miss her apartment in Stuart. My birthday is coming up! Man, I love my husband! Sorry, sorry, off track. Besides writing this, I am posting new (new-ish) pictures to my MySpace. I have a new method to lightening my mood, which I don't need often now. I have a new object of obsession. I have a sunflower. I have a real, live sunflower. I planted about 80 seeds and only one of them grew. It's gorgeous. I have pictures posted. Check it out! I will be forcing Emmett to go flower shopping. I most likely won't have to try hard to convince him. I have my ways. Love!
My sunflower!! Oh, how I miss you! Two actually grew consecutively, but they both died pretty quickly.

Hagi

  • Aug. 13th, 2010 at 9:14 AM
Good morning, everyone.

I'm sitting here with my peeps, eating Cinnamon Toast Crunch, my new favorite cereal, and listening to WILD 95.
5's KVJ Show, my favorite radio station.

If you haven't noticed already, I got bored and shook up the blog layouts. I made the banners out of sheer boredom, but Jason urged me to put them up. So... what do you think?

I lied when I said I'd try to post last night. I totally didn't even try. By the time I turned Blood+ off it was 12:30 and time to watch Craig Ferguson.

For those of you who don't know what Blood+ is... shame on you! No, I'm kind of kidding. Blood+, pronounced as "Blood Plus", is an anime series.

Wikipedia Description:
Under the care of her adoptive family, Saya Otonashi has been living the life of an anemic and amnesiac, but otherwise ordinary schoolgirl. Saya’s happy life is shattered when she is attacked by a chiropteran, learning that she is the only one who can defeat them.

Armed with her katana, Saya embarks on a journey with her family, allies, and her chevalier, Hagi, to rid the world of chiropteran and rediscover her identity. The course of the journey reveals the background history of the chiropterans and Saya's very deep past, which extends into the mid-19th century.

The series is initially set in present day (September 2005) Okinawa City (Koza), on Okinawa Island, near the US Kadena Air Base. In the course of the series, Saya visits locations across the world, fighting enemy chiropteran and searching for her origins.

Blood+ is officially my new favorite show. I've seriously watched it all day for the past... three days. Today will be the fourth. Netflix, which is where I'm watching it, makes the four seasons into two "parts". It has made it easier to watch it continually.

If you have been paying attention, you know of my love of Dr. Manhattan, Watchmen's usually naked blue God-like entity. I also have a bit of a crush on Zuko, the banished prince of the Fire Nation, of Avatar: The Last Airbender. Blood+'s Hagi blows Zuko out of the water.

The picture is of Hagi and Saya. Hagi is Saya's chevalier and he is consistently saving her. Emmett and I were watching it yesterday. I looked at him and I said, "At least I know I can take care of myself if you leave for a few minutes." Literally when something minutely bad happens, Saya will usually drop to her knees and/or cry. One of the things the show makes very clear is that she can't fight without Hagi. Not exactly the heroine you'd expect, huh?

Hagi has long dark hair and blue eyes so you can guess how the attraction started. :-P He wears "tails" and plays a cello constantly. He also puts up with the helpless little girl and her annoying friends. Reminds me of a dude I know. ;-)

Anyway, if you follow the blogs, Facebook, and Twitter, you know that we're back on the gig circuit. We had the honor of having Casey Hoover hang out with us yesterday. I like having him around. He's a really good kid.

Another sound check and another gig tonight. We have gigs on Saturday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Busy, busy, busy.

On Thursday, we'll be heading over to Fort Myers to chill with David and Cassie for the weekend. I'm so excited!
